In order to value the environmental efforts of the Microlight aviation in terms of consumption, sound and atmosphere pollution, the
Microlight Eco Marathon Association is organizing, for its first edition 2010, a prized competition, which aim is to reward the participants’
ability to use minimum polluting energy, while pointing out the absence
of noise emission.
On the fringe of this competition, the new energy sources
The “Energetic Bunch for the Future” and its various
applications will be performed, explained and demonstrated.The forerunning aeronautical challenges that feed our
dreams and confirm our interest for alternate energies as

THE EVENT
Each year, and this year for the first time on July 10th
and July 11th, will be organized the Microlight (U.L.M.) Eco
Marathon as the exhibition of motive energies.
The Competition
- The objective is to fly the longest distance using as
little energy as possible on board of a single or double seat Microlight
aircraft.
-All the Microlight aircrafts allowed on the French list
are permitted: paramotor, pendular, multiaxe, autogyre, dirigible.

The
aircrafts will be permitted to use one of the following energies:
unloaded 95, liquefied gas (GPL), liquid gas (100% GTL), hydrogen,
pressured air, solar energy, electricity (batteries), bio-energies,
hybrid technologies.
A compulsory flight at a constant altitude will have to be covered three
times in two sets taking place on Saturday and
Sunday
The checking will be proceeded by the FFPULM with onboard GPS

Back to ground the energy consumption will be measured in order to
decide between the competitors

To encourage and stimulate innovation and
ideas for energy saving, and the future of flying leasures.

To help the technical education system with engaging staffs able
to teach professionnal techniques.

To promote technical careers among youngsters.
The MOTIVE ENERGY EXHIBITION
This fun flying competition will give the visitors an opportunity to
discover a panel of new technologies as well as their various
applications displayed through the stands of the Energy Exhibition.
In these spaces, ingenious handy-men, students in technical tuition, as
well as major actors developing these new energies
and their applications, will explain their technical choices for
aircrafts (electricity, hydrogen, or fuel cell), for terrestrial
vehicles ( electricity, hydrogen, bio-energies). The wind and solar
power production will also be represented.
The audience will be explained and demonstrated the “Energetic Bunch of
Tomorrow”
