Understanding the Sky
by
Dennis Pagen, 6 x
9" format, 200 pages, 140 illustrations, 33 photos, 4-color cover
|
|

|
A great complement to the PPG Bible, this book
eloquently compresses 20 years of ultralight experience and meteorological
research by respected author Dennis Pagen. It explains what and how weather affects
us.
If you've ever wondered why the air behaves the way it does, this book is for
you. The greatest emphasis is on small-scale effects—exactly where we fly
paramotors.
It thoroughly cover everything from turbulence to
thunderstorms. The chapters on lift sources and flying efficiency alone
are worth the price of this book. Understanding the Sky is your key to
complete comfort in the air.
The most valuable resource for really
understanding weather that affects paramotor pilots. Besides making a
normally dull subject interesting, Dennis Pagen is a talented illustrator
who bring the concepts to life. |

The complete
Powered Paragliding Bible as translated from Edition 3. Same great
content and graphics as the original but now in hardcover and in
Spanish. This beautifully produced volume includes extra content that
will help those in other countries, especially Spain since it includes
their airspace information, and even charts.
It is
packed dense with the same graphics but also has additional photographs
and graphics that further improve the content.
If does
have advertisements but, at 400 pages, these do not affect the content
whatsoever nor did they influence the actual text in any way.
It
beautifully bound hardcover with dust jacket and inlaid front graphics.
Shipping is $11 to any U.S. address including Puerto Rico.
Unfortunately this is too large to fit in a flat rate envelope so
international shipping is much more expensive ($48) since it must go
in a medium flat rate box. In Europe, this title is available at
La Tiena
Verde for lower shipping cost to Europe. You can also contact Mario
at Perfils Publishing directly. |

Paramotor pilot Franck Simonet has an eye for the beautiful
and keeps his camera nearby to record it. The pictures celebrate both
the process of paramotoring as well as what it lets you see. This is a great way to introduce friends to the sport
in a beautiful, compelling way.
It is a coffee table book that doesn't take a lot of
room but packs plenty of gorgeous punch. |
