Powered Paragliding
Everything For and About Humankind's most personal form
of flight

Strap on a
paramotor and join these amazing people who run into their dreams of
flight. But be well educated before leaping aloft—this website is
dedicated to that end. The PPG
Bible is a collaborative effort that takes you from "first sight to
first flight" and way, way beyond, helping you aviate confidently in the national airspace
system while having a blast along the way. Enjoy the ride!

Here's more.
Our path to freedom gives fine control, spectacular views and practical
portability to flight. The sport offers a safe and affordable way into the
air but there is a lot to know. Experienced pilots make it look easy and
their skill makes it so.
But sword-swallowing looks easy, just shove the thing down your throat,
right? You bet there's more than meets the eye! Now, finally, there's the
PPG bible, along with Risk & Reward (video) and other information
available here can help you survive and prosper at this incredible trip to
the skies. Plus, we'll try to keep you entertained in the process. This
is, after all, still about fun.
 Go
here for an
informative overview of airspace as it applies to ultralight pilots,
particularly PPG pilots. Our primary concern is knowing where class E and
G airspace is. That's where we fly. Go here for a complete look at the
parts of a powered paraglider.
A fun, fast paced and humorous romp with our sport's most passionate
people. Experience the people and their pleasures through the running of a
National PPG Convention. Includes some aerial ballet from other places as
well.
Includes a brief preview of Risk & Reward and the "Powered
Paragliding Bible." You'll also see the the U.S. Competition circuit
explained and watch Eric Dufour turn a record time on the challenging
cloverleaf course. This is certainly not a training video but does
showcase some examples of the good, the...well, you get the idea.
Flattered & Honored
Thanks so much to the Florida Powered Paragators who caught me completely
off guard at the 2007 National Convention. They awarded me the "Above
and Beyond Award" for "Dedication to Promoting the Sport of Powered Paragliding." I'm
honored, to say the least. Thanks guys!
Sept 10, 2008 Work has begun on the
scripts for a series of videos that will take a new pilot to the next
level of paramotor flying. Master Powered Paragliding is planned
as a series of four videos that will concisely and clearly show how to
do, then how to practice, maneuvers and techniques to improve pilot
skills and handle higher winds.
It will employ a number of camera techniques and diagrams to make it
crystal clear how the techniques are done. This isn't a "show-off"
production, it's a training tool, with emphasis on clarity. Each 65 minute
edition will be carefully narrated and tightly cut with music. We hope to
make them entertaining, yes, but above all, effective.
High Def video equipment will be employed along with other tools to
improve quality. Steadicam, helmet cam, and a swiveling frame-mount cam will
help make for a professional product. Several segments will include multiple
cameras to let the viewer see the pilot's actions up close with an inset
shot showing how the wing behaves.
The Powered Paragliding Bible was a two year undertaking. Its second
edition took four months and, like the first, involved more
than a dozen people and even more sites. The second edition was the second
largest project of my
life, trailing only the first edition. Seeing the final result is what I imagine a mother feels like after
having a baby. Painful, but worth it.
Sept 10, 2008 The good news is that the
initial run sold out and we're now well into the second printing. By printing a larger
quantity we were able to keep the same retail price in spite of other
increases.

1. Skimp on maintenance at your
own peril. Eventually it will
catch up!
2. See what could be a better paramotor.
2. Just for the fun of it, hanging out the window of a Boeing 737.
